Coming Out :

God created us...
God wove together our bodies. God wove together our gender and our sexuality. The tender intimacy of God's personal involvement in our embryonic is a cause for praise, awe, and wonder.
     God must have conceived us the way we are: not the way we express ourselves---that is up to us---but who we are. If we are gay, God made us that way. If we are lesbian, God made us that way. If we are bisexual, God made us that way. If we are transgender, God made us that way.
     Our sexual differences have made us a cause for blame, fear, and horror to those who don't understand. Rather, they should be a cause for praise, awe, and wonder that we exist. Stand up for what you believe is right, in yourself and others...
According to John, on the eve of Jesus's arrest, trial, and crucifixion, many believed in him but did not say so, fearful of religious conservatives who might kick them out of the synagogue. Perhaps they could have averted his death.
The resistance to lesbians and gay men in both church and culture is not simply because religious conservatives oppose us. It is because many of those who support us are not willing to risk their reputations in speaking out.

Lord, give power and courage to those who believe in us to come out of their closets.
