CNSP ECONOMIC REFORM PLAN 

FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM

A recent series of Economic Reforms is now opening up Haiti's economic potential to international companies from the United States and all over the world. 

Recent Developments Include:   

      The E-Commerce Act providing for a legal frame work to simplify and facilitate domestic and international exchange of information transactions. 

      The Retail Trade Act liberalizing the retail trade business and allowing foreign-owned companies to invest in the retail sector. 

      New Securities regulation measures reorganizing Haiti Securities and Exchange Commission and enabling the country to effectively compete in the Global Securities Market.  

     The General Banking Transactions Plan enhancing the supervisory capabilities of Haiti Central Bank and allowing foreign banks to acquire up to 100 percent of the voting stock of an existing local bank for a limited period.

     The Power Reconstruction Plan allowing the private sector to invest in the generation and distribution of electrical power. 
     A regional Information Technology Center that will be the home for High-tech companies and the new Banking System Center. 

 

Doors will be opened in Haiti for international-based companies and will provide thousands of new jobs for Haitians. Special emphasis is being placed in the areas of:  

1. Manufacturing

2. Electrical Plants 

3. Health Care / Pharmaceuticals

4. Tourism

5. Agriculture

6. Information Technology

7. Education

8. Telecommunications

9. Fishing Industry

10. Housing
