Alternate Encumbrance System For Castles & Crusades
The encumbrance system
in Castles & Crusades as designed was
intended to make it easy for the Castle Keeper to determine just how
much stuff a character was carrying, without getting bogged down in
useless details. This article details a system that functions on
different principles, sacrificing ease of use for accuracy.
Beat 'em to a Pulp! The subject of
critical hits comes up rather frequently in role playing
games. Some players love such things, while others hate them. Some
games incorporate them into their base rules, while others do not even
bother. Castles & Crusades falls into the latter category. This
article details a method to incorporate Rolemaster or HARP critical
hits charts into the Castles & Crusades gaming experience.
Character Creation Cheat Sheet This article is a ten
page distillation of the character generation
rules into a format that allows new players as well as those players
who do not own a copy of the Castles & Crusades Players
Handbook to quickly generate a new 1st-Level character and play.
Genetic Character Generation Based on the idea of Punnet Square genetics as taught in high schools, this is a replacement system designed to provide a more "genetic" way of generating a character's attributes. The primary feature of this system is that depending on whether the attribute is dominant, average, or recessive, a specific die range is rolled. |
