Our Captain's comments:

'We started our game well, taking the lead. They equalised and we took the lead again. And the mistakes that cost us the game took place. In our eagerness to finish the team off and get the 3-1 lead, instead of just sitting back and trying to defend our lead, we were caught off guard twice. Their last goal came during the last minute of the game and we had no chance of fighting our way back. We all learned our lesson and with that in mind we look forward to the next competition.

Truly speaking I felt that we were the better team and the superb partnership of Anwar and Nicolas, which resulted in a total of 12 goals in 5 games, was really awesome. While Nicolas showed what a terrific goalpoacher he can be infront of goal from every angle, Anwar blasted the opposition off with his trademark 'cacadife' and was nicknamed " La Flame". Most teams were traumatised with his shots and when one of the opposition players did "ramasse the cacadife in the head" he was almost taken off the pitch for concussion. :)

Well, even if we did not win, and our team manager was furious that we lost in the quarters (and could not pay him a treat to a massage parlour), we all had a good Sunday and enjoyed the tournament. It proved to us that we were good enough to compete with any of those teams. After the results of the first round of qualifiers were published on the notice board, you could hear the players from other teams uttering the name of Club M.

Silat FC, our opponent in the quarter-final, went on to win the tournament - we were beaten by the best team on that day. Our quarter-final game was like a Final for us. Had we won the game, Club M could have won the tournament. Better luck next time!'
