MEDICAL EDUCATION AND RELIEF PROJECT
A non-profit, educational and charitable, study abroad program in International Health organized by faculty and students of the Virginia Commonwealth University, U.S.A.
We are a non-profit organization and all donations are  tax deductible

This project started in 2002 with a simple idea by a VCU medical student (Deep) and the Chairman of Internal Medicine (Dr. Richard P. Wenzel). Since then, the idea has materialized into a large scale international project that includes multiple U.S. medical schools, distinguished academic institutions and hospitals in India, and a collaboration with the Indian government. Together, they provide free healthcare and medicine to thousands of indigent patients in India and educate U.S. students and physicians about the art of healing. To date, the project has raised $ 50,000 in donations, has had extensive positive media coverage in India and USA, and received numerous awards and recognition for the effort.

This project was an official study abroad program of VCU (2003-04), and is currently affiliated with the International Hospital for Children. Please click the links below for more information:
