CityCare Charity Group Committee Members
The CityCare Charity Group was initiated and formed in February 2000 by a small group of cabbies who felt the need to spend their time more productively by helping the less fortunate.
To Provide Love And Care To The Less Fortunate Regardless Of Race, Language Or Religion
Love And Care Is What We Share
Since then, CityCare has grown from just eight to its current size of about 200 members and they have been actively involved in community projects. It hopes to recruit other CityCab drivers to join its charity wagon. In recognition of its dedication towards charity work, CityCare Charity Group was given the Outstanding New Volnteerism Award by the National Volunteer Centre in November 2002. The Group has also being  awarded the President's Service Social Award on 29th August 2004.
The Charity Group has made several contributions through its charity fund, in which it receives regular contributions of $20 from each member and some other sponsorship. So far, it has managed to raise over $150,000 for charity as at end April, 2004.

The MiCAB Project

CityCare also actively works with CityCab on joint projects. For example, it is actively involved in the MiCAB Project - a special transportation service by Michelin and CityCab for disabled students. Launched in January 2002, 200 CityCab cabbies volunteered to participate in this project by channelling the fare they collect from MiCAB to CityCare's charity fund to finance other charities. Since its launch, our cabbies have been ferrying about 25 students to and from school on a daily basis.
Love COPE Project

CityCare members are also actively involved in a wide range of community activities, especially in the Love COPE programme - an on-going community project led by Marine Parade CDC for the elderly residents of Kampong Arang /Tanjong Rhu. Other participating organisations include St. Hilda's Community Services Centre and Tanjong Katong Secondary School.

The cabbies contribute by providing free transport and companionship to the senior citizens for their regular outings. Activities include outings to Gardenia, Night Safari and Christmas Hi-Tea, Chinese New Year Lunch.
Bread-On-Wheel Project

50 CityCare members are actively involved in the Bread-On-Wheel project. Launched in 28th May 2003 with Food From The Heart [FFTH], the members distributed unsold bread from Sunshine Bakeries and The Delifrance to 5 charitable organizations. The cabbies also provide free transport to the volunteers from FFTH for bread distribution.
