(CIT) is an organization of volunteers providing information and assistance to non-Pakistanis interested in visiting Pakistan. Our aim is to help the travelers in their journey from their home to Pakistan and experience the wonders of Pakistan to the fullest. We act as a touchstone for travelers to go about exploring Pakistan in the most productive way. We provide our services to help you contact the right tour operators, update you on the latest travel and trekking conditions, make sure you are taking all the necessary precautions and visit the manifold wonders in Pakistan. CIT is an independent organization and is not associated with any tour operator, travel agency or related business. Our goal is to provide unbiased advice to people who contact us. Names of businesses on this web site are provided for information only, and are not their endorsement. We encourage you to contact us with any questions you have regarding your visit to Pakistan. Even if you have all the answers, drop us a line to let us know when you will be here and your plans. All services provided by CIT are on cost and advice is free!!! CIT operates a clubhouse in Islamabad and in Karachi to provide various facilities to travellers. Before leaving home, you can give out the club address, phone/fax number and e-mail address to friends and family. When in Pakistan, travelers can stop in, have tea, pick up their mail, use the telephone, or e-mail home. A reference library of travel related books and maps is available to complement your information. The clubhouse can even help you with hotel reservations and local transportation. With prior arrangement, you can call in for receiving and sending messages. You can leave your luggage for storage at the clubhouse for as long as you are visiting other parts of Pakistan. Karachi, with a population of more than 12 million, is the largest city of Pakistan and its commercial and industrial hub. Those who wish to visit Karachi to see its diversity and attractions, can contact the clubhouse in Karachi to get an update of travel conditions to Karachi and when in Karachi enjoy the same services as the Islamabad clubhouse. The clubhouse in Islamabad is operated in association with the Himalayan Explorers Club, a nonprofit organization based in Colorado, USA. Himalayan Explorers ClubHimalayan Explorer Club (HEC) is involved in promoting a better understanding and respect for the environment and culture of the entire Himalayan region including India and Nepal. It also has an active clubhouse in Khatmandu providing services to travelers to Nepal. It publishes a monthly e-bulletin for exchange of information among members and a quarterly newsletter describing environmental and cultural issues of the Himalayan region. Map and Directions to the ClubhouseIslamabad is divided in sectors in a square grid. Each sector is designated from F to I (north to south) and 6 to 11 (east to west). Each sector is divided into 4 sub-sectors, numbered 1 to 4. The clubhouse is located in Sector F-8, sub-sector 4. From the Islamabad International Airport, go past the Zero Point all the way to the commercial strip of Islamabad, known as Blue Area. Go past two traffic signals on either side of the Blue Area strip. At the next traffic signal (about 50 yards), turn left on Nazimuddin Road. At the first traffic signal (about 50 yards) turn right into a service road. Enter Street 48 (second left); go past the Iraq Embassy (a landmark known to taxi drivers). The clubhouse is located at the intersection of St. 48 and St. 63 (first intersection). The map to the clubhouse is given below:
