STAR NETWORK

Star network is all the computers and other devices on the network connect to a central device(hub/switch),thus forming a star.

Two types of devices that provides a common central connection point to all the other devices on the network are hub and a switch.

How data transmit:
it transfer from one node to another nodes passes through hub/switch.

if the network used hub, the signal will send to all nodes but only the intended recipient will accept the signal and the rest will ignore.
if the network used switch, the signal will send directly to the intended recipient.

Avantages	Disadvantages
If one device(pc/printer) fails ,only that device is affected.	If the hub or switch fails, the entire network will be malfunction.
Devices (pc/printer) can be added to or removed from network with little or no disruption.	Requires more cable than most of the other topologies.
