Although
Kinetoscopio was invented by Thomas Edison,
we can't forget the credit of W.K. Laurie Dickson who
helped in it development. Edison didn't like the idea
of movemented images. He thought that only children would
like that, and even them would get tyred real fast.
Dickson's work with Edison and later with Muybridge
in this area that became possible the development of the
Kinetoscopio by Edison. The first Cinema theater was
created by him in 1893 and it was built in a way that it
could rotate depending on sun's position.
Not
only in USA were working in movement images' record and
project, in Europe by the same time other scientists
were working on it. In France, in the year of 1895,
Louis and Auguste Lumière registered a projector, 'The
Cinematographe'. The first movie consisted in film some
workers leaving the family's factory and was named 'La
sortie des ouvriers de L'usine Lumiere. For some people
the birth of cinema was the first public projection of
Lumiere brothers' movies in December 28 (1895) in Paris.

Edison
aquired the rights of the Phantascope by Thomas
Woodville and Charles Jenkins that named by Vitascope
system and begun to project movies since 1896.
Despite
several judicial processes that rised because of the
regists, it was in the end of this century that appeared
several enterprises dedicated
to the creation and projection of movies. Films
were becoming popular between workers class.
It was Aurélio Paz Dos Reis in the year of 1896 carried through the first Portuguese films. |
