| Vote Cieran Perry Cabra/Glasnevin Ward - Dublin City Council The city council should allocate small-scale local sites for young people to build their own houses. A small site would allow 8-10 houses to be built. These houses could be built for around 120,000 - far cheaper than any builder would charge. There should be tax relief for family members building in their parents side/back gardens. Council must increase the amount of affordable housing they are building. An emphasis on family friendly housing must be included in all developments. Stricter controls on the height and density of new apartments in residential and settled communities. The local householders of Drumcondra, Cabra, Glasnevin and the Navan Road cannot have their quality of life suffer because of builders being allowed to erect massive schemes. The character of our communities must not be allowed to deteriorate because of the commercial greed of party politicians and their paymasters. | |||||
