About Cieran
Vote Cieran Perry
Cabra/Glasnevin Ward - Dublin City Council

My name is Cieran Perry and I am 41 years old. I work as a computer technician and live in Cabra with my wife and two daughters.

  • I have been involved with local clubs and community groups for many years now.

  • I am secretary of the Cabra Dunard Navan Rd. campaign against the Bin Tax and represent these areas on the Dublin City committee.

  • I was involved in setting up the Cabra Communities against Drugs project and acted as co-ordinator of our community anti-drug patrols.

  • I am National Secretary of the Coalition of Communities Against Drugs group.

  • I am a member of the Community Council in Cabra.

  • I am one of the organisers of the Kids Fun Days which provide free entertainment for local youngsters while promoting local clubs and groups. It is my belief that by offering positive and healthy alternatives to young people we can keep them from the harm of crime and drugs.

  • I continue to organise the annual Dublin City Against Drugs soccer Tournament.

  • I have campaigned for local facilities and I am one of the original fundraising team for the recently built John Paul Park Community Centre.

  • I have promoted the ideas of the Security of the Elderly' charity, which provides free security devises for senior citizens.

  • I have been active in opposing high-rise developments, which will eradicate local quality of life and impose unacceptable burdens upon our communities.

  • I believe the vital role played by volunteers within our communities must be recognised and supported. As anyone involved in community and sporting groups will know, it is getting harder to involve helpers. We must all strive to play a part in the development of our community. The City Council and other state agencies must recognise this and provide what resources are necessary. Funding must be sustained and not subject to random cutbacks.
