Is a Chinchilla Right for Me? Pet Store vs. Breeder Basic Care Benefits of Owning Multiple Chinchillas Thinking About Breeding? |
|||||||||||||||||||
| Chinchillas can make wonderful pets. They require less care than a cat or dog, yet are more cuddly than a hamster. They have luxuriously soft fur and love to be held when raised right. They do not have an odor and, if their cage is cleaned regularly, are virtually smell-free! All they need is daily exercise, a decent-sized cage, food, water, and an occasional dust bath, Keep in mind, they are exotics. Although they don't require regular trips to the vet, be sure to find a vet in your area that treats chinchilas in case of emergencies. Also, chinchillas can live a long time; they can turn into a 10-20 year commitment! You must be prepared to care for them for their whole lives. Please continue to our Basic Care page to learn how to provide your chinchillas with what it needs and feel free to Contact Us with any questions you may have. |
