Yes, there's a breed called the Sphynx has a body which is totally bald except for a small amount of short downy hair. The defrosted Mr. Bigglesworth from Austin Powers is an example of one.
Yes, they're called Manx. The taillessness is a hereditary deformity and it may cause problems. The tail is used to help coordinate movements as well as to communicate with other cats, and the lack of tail may often leads to deformations. A lot of Manx cats have hopping gaits on their hind legs and a few have serious spinal deformities.
They sure have a striking resemblance in terms of body type and colour but it's unclear whether they are descended from the ancient Egyptian cats.

They are Siamese cats without the typical Siamese colouring, such as dark points (darker colour at the ears, face, legs and tail) and blue eyes. Chuwy has blue eyes and brown spotted fur, so I'm not quite sure what he is to tell you the truth.
