Scott LaFaro: Beacon for Jazz Bassists -- Items Lacking

What follows is a list of books, magazine articles, photographs, recordings, that I would like to acquire to complete my LaFaro bibliography and discography.

In some cases I have audio cassette copies of the original recordings, and photocopies of the record jackets and LP vinyl labels.

Journal Articles

Kopel, G. “Wilbur Ware et Scott LaFarro [sic, in recté, LaFaro]”, Jazz Magazine (decembre 1959), pp. 16-17.

Note: Steven D. Harris, author of The Kenton Kronicles: A Biography of Mondern America's Man of Music, Stan Kenton (California: Dynaflow Publications, December 1999) informed me by e-mail dated 16 Nov 02 that the correct information for this recording is as follows:

Recorded 11 November 1958 at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS.  Bassist is Red Kelly (based on the author's interview with Mr. Kelly).

LaFaro joined the Kenton band on 6 March 1959 and left on or before 25 March 1959 -- a tenure of about three weeks. He was succeeded by bassist Carson Smith.

Recording has been re-issued on CD as Stan Kenton / Kessler Air Force Base [Live].

Stan the Man  Stan Getz. New York: Verve [and Polygram Records] 1984. Verve 815 239-1. 2 sound discs : analog, 33 and 1/3 rpm, stereo?

Although a 'Scott LaFaro' search of the Barnes & Noble <www.bn.com>  database lists this Booker Little CD, LaFaro does not perform as part of this Booker Little ensemble.
