Stan Kenton & His Orchestra / [S.l] Artistry Record 101, [1958?]
Note: Steven D. Harris, author of The Kenton Kronicles: A Biography of Mondern America's Man of Music, Stan Kenton (California: Dynaflow Publications, December 1999) informed me by e-mail dated 16 Nov 02 that the correct information for this recording is as follows:
Recorded 11 November 1958 at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS. Bassist is Red Kelly (based on the author's interview with Mr. Kelly).
LaFaro joined the Kenton band on 6 March 1959 and left on or before 25 March 1959 -- a tenure of about three weeks. He was succeeded by bassist Carson Smith.
Recording has been re-issued on CD as Stan Kenton / Kessler Air Force Base [Live].

Note: This LP is also on 1 magnetic tape "double play" cassette 815 239-4 Jazz ensembles with Stan Getz, recorded between 1947 and 1961. All but four selections have been previously released.
