He served in French and Indian War enlisting Nov. 25, 1755 in Capt. Putnam's Company, and was in garrison at Ft. Edward on Dec. 5, 1755 in Col. Bagley's Reg. The company was organized from a body of colonists assembled at Albany, N.Y., They were from Mass., N.H., Conn., R.I., and N.Y. His discharge was on May 30, 1756.

Jemima, b. Voluntown, Conn., Dec. 29, 1715.

Sarah, b. Norwick, Conn., June 10, 1719.

Samuel, b. Norwick, Conn., Sept. 4, 1720. There were three Samuels who served in French and Indian War, 2nd Company of Lt. Col. Coit; 2nd Reg. of Col. Nathan Whiting for Campaign of 1758.

William, b. prob. Manchester, N.Y., July 16, 1810; m. Anna DeWolf. They settled at Hopewell, N.Y., where they had four daughters and where he died.

Solomon, b. Providence, R.I., 1692; he was made freeman there in 1723. He moved with his parents from Providence, R.I. to Norwick, Conn. and received certain lands there, being a remainder, under his father's will proved there Aug. 16, 1728.

John, b. Coventry, R.I., 1694, and moved with his parents from Coventry, R.I. to Norwick, R.I., where he received only 20 shillings under his father's will proved there Aug. 16, 1728, he having had his share. He is thought to have been the father of James who married Mary Dwinnell, grand-daughter of Dr. Michael Dwinnell, who fled from Paris, France upon the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, and settled in Topsfield, Mass., 1636. Mary Dwinnell was fourth from Thomas Harris of Plymouth Colony, in 1620.

James, b. Providence, R.I., after 1690; moved with his parents to Norwick, Conn., and prob. died before 1728 not being named in his father's will filed that year.

Patience, b. Providence, R.I., about 1696; m. Kingston, R.I., Samuel Whaley, a descendant of General Theopelus Whaley, a regicide. He died Coventry, R.I., 1782. She was second wife. Fortunatus, b. Shrewsbury, Mass., Apr. 22, 1764; died there Jan. 24, 1841; m. Anna Harrington of Grafton, Mass., b. 1767, and died in Shrewsbury, Mass., June 23, aged 63, 1832; she was dau. of Samuel and wife, Anna (Brigham) Harrington, and who had married before to Joel Fay.

He was Justice of Peac in Shrewsbury, Mass., and was a graduate of Brown University, and editor of Worcester Republican.

He served in Civil War in 93rd N.Y. Volunteers for 3 years and 7 months. He was past Master and Justice of the Peace at Knob View, Mo., for two terms. She was descended from Woods, Healeys and Chamberlain, of Chelmsford, Mass.

He was a genealogist, but after his death the family had small pox and were required to burn his papers.

Was at Adams, 1790 and Burlington, 1800.

He left will in which he mentioned his two sons, Nathaniel and Reuben.

Silas, b. Gloucester, R.I., Jan. 16, 1775; d. Weybridge, Vt., Feb. 25, 1850; m. in Mass., Jan. 25, 1802, Betsy Dickinson, b. Mass., Aug. 5, 1785, and d. Weybridge, Vt., June 16, 1854. They made land deed to his father and his brother, Joshua, signed as witness.

Seth, b. Gloucester, Mass., Mar. 19, 1765; d. Adams, Mass., Dec. 2, 1822; m. there Aug. 30, 1792, Patience Tracy, who was made guardian of his daughter, Nancy M., on Oct. 20, 1824. His estate was administered Apr. 12, 1824, same date of probation of his father's will in which he received bequest. He and Sister Cadace, signed as witnesses, alnd deed made by their father in 1807.

Charles b. R.I., Jan. 1773; and died there Jan. 21, 1773, when his mother was aged only 14 years.

Charles, b. R.I., Apr. 19, 1775; d. in Easton, N.Y., July 23, 1865; m. Martha Whipple, b. Rhode Island, Feb. 20, 1777, and died Easton, N.Y., Feb. 26, 1846.

They moved from Rhode Island, to Easton, Apr. 16-20, 1797, when oldest son, John was aged 4 years. On Feb. 12, 1798 he received deed to land there from Abraham Inman, an same persons conveyed to him 111 acres there Apr. 30, 1807. (Land deed received from Abraham Inman and uncle, Richard Harrington). He had a son, Abraham I., prob. named after Abraham Inman. Land deeds made about 1827-29 seemed to be in settlement of estate of Charles' grandfather William of wife, Ann Hamon. An uncle, William had grandson who repaired bicycles in Pittsfield, Mass.

On Apr. 13, 1807 he received land from Ricahrd in Washington County, N.Y.; he also bought land from him on the 30th day of April of the same year and on Apr. 26, 1829, he received land from John in Washington County, N.Y, and again on Mar. 9, 1830; on Oct. 24, 1837, he sold land to Henry Birch on east bank of the Hudson River. He was a witness to a deed in which his son, Abraham I. Harrington, conveyed to Anna McKinley, lands in Easton, N.Y.
