ONI PicIt's big news in the gaming world. It's big news period, haven't you heard? Microsoft just bought out Bungie. That's right folks. That would mean that Bill Gates' crew now has rights to great games-to-be that were once owned by Bungie, like Halo, or Oni. Microsoft is starting to get aggressive in the gaming industry… But I'm not here to talk about Microsoft's computer empire, no, I want to talk about one of their new acquisitions. Preferably one acquisition that is a new game which is coming out soon. They call it Oni.

What is Oni? What's it about? Well, here's the scoop. You are a member of the TCTF, and your name is Konoko. What is the TCTF? The TCTF stands for Technology Crimes Task Force, it is a one-woman SWAT team. You, Konoko must stop crime and bring back justice. It's as simple as that.

Sounds innocent and fun enough? I don't know yet. The graphics look spectacular, and the world is fully immersable. You use all of the objects in your environment to help you. Run out of bullets? Use a chair to take down that gangster. Also, you don't only fight with objects, Konoko is trained in martial arts. Many times you will use your kicking and punching skills before using any other way to take down an enemy. However, Oni is no Mortal Kombat or Tekken. You don't fight in arenas, you go through the game in third-person view. This game is really of the first-person shooter descent, only with some added twists.

Some things Christians might be worried about in Oni would be the fact that you play as a female character. Bungie could and might take this opportunity to make another good-looking game marred by making it sensuality-centered. (Like Eidos did with Tomb Raider.) However, from what I have seen, it does not look like Bungie is making no such attempts. But, again I am not sure what the future holds for Oni, as it is still being developed. I hope that Oni stays a good, clean, and fun game.
