Dino Crisis PicFor all of you gamers who don't have a playstation and envy your friends who do, look up and fret no more. Capcom is releasing some Playstation games to the PC. The exciting thing though, is that the smash hit, Dino Crisis is among them. However, to overshadow this turnover to the PC, Capcom is planning on releasing Dino Crisis 2 for Playstation, no definite date, yet. So you can still wish for a playstation, but Dino Crisis is coming to you and your PC, hopefully this month.

Dino Crisis is a scary, action-packed, dinosaur-filled, adventure game. You take the role of Regina, an agent who, along with her two other partners go on a quest to find an energy-expert scientist, who was reported missing on his experimental island, called Ibis. As you search this island, you find the bodies of the guards and inhabitants of that area. As the game progresses, you find the shocking truth, that you now share this island with dinosaurs! What used to be just a normal, ordinary mission is now a pursuit for survival.

This game is immensely fun, and scary. As you walk through deserted warehouses and buildings, raptors will just leap out at you, unexpectedly. You always have to have your finger on the trigger….

I can't make a judgment on the game yet, because it hasn't even came out yet. However from what I can see now is what has driven me to these temporary conclusions. ( I mean temporary, wait for the review!). Dino Crisis is a very fun game. For a playstaion convert, it has done a good job in a PC. The graphics are nice, the sound is great, and the camera system is probably better than what most PC games could boast. However, there are a few things that may offend Christians. First of all, you assume the role of a female. This may not offend some Christians, but don't tell me that I didn't warn you. However, Capcom didn't turn this game sensuality-centered (like Eidos did with Tomb Raider). You can choose which outfits you wish for Regina to wear. There are some immodest ones, and then there are some that aren't really that offensive, Capcom leaves you to decide. Secondly, the playstation version received a Mature 17+ rating for Animated Blood and Gore. Don't take that lightly. There are some mangled humans and dinosaurs in Dino Crisis. However, most of the blood looks kinda fake, but it is still there. And, so far there is no blood on/off switch. So it was rated Mature for a reason.

Despite some flaws and maybe some controversial aspects, Dino Crisis looks to be a good game that is centered on just having fun, and maybe a good scare. However with the added blood and maybe some suggestive themes, this game may be a "no" for some Christians.
