The beginning of his coach career

Klinsmann was appointed as the head coach of German National Soccer Team in July 2004 after the Germans' embarrassing journey in the 2004 European Championship in Portugal.

His contract will last for two years and his major task is to lead Germany in the World Cup 2006 (check out for Klinsmann's news in WC06 or Germany's performance in WC06) on home soil.

Although Klinsmann had coaching qualification, he had no coaching experience before, so it will definitely be a great challenge for Klinsmann.

As a coach, Klinsmann stresses on physical and mental fitness and adopts the US's method of training player's fitness. He likes to play a direct, quick and attacking style of football. He also has great confidence on young players. All these attributes are going to bring revolutionary changes to the German football.

The Ending (perhaps, Interlude) of his coach career

After Klinsmann had successfully led the German National Soccer Team to the third place of the 2006 World Cup, he told German Football Association (DFB) on 11 July 2006 that he would not extend his contract with DFB (click here to read news clipping). This marks the end of Klinsmann's short national coach career. Hope that it is only an interlude but not the end of Klinsmann's coach career.

Return to the pitch Klinsmann! Fans are waiting for you!
