Final Fantasy X was released on the PS2 last year. This is a great game for many reasons. Firstly, it features real voices done by popular American voice actors, secondly a whole new bagfull of new features including different battle styles, controlling Aeons, Blitzball and tons more. In this section of CD, I will explain and tell you about FFX. The story focuses around two characters, Tidus a pro-blitzball player (a type of underwater ball game) and Yuna, a summoner. In a Blitzball game one day Tidus finds himself swept away into the world of Spira, a world centered around water. Here he meets many enemies and many allies. These include Yuna, the trainee summoner, Wakka, a religious blitzball player, Rikku an 'Al Bhed', Kimahri Ronso, who looks like a humanoid lion, Lulu a black mage who uses a Mog doll and Auron, a powerful fighter. All these are Yunas guardians to ensure that she stays safe, Tidus also becomes her guardian. It turns out that a huge 'thing' called Sin is out to destroy Spira and its inhabitants, and it is a summoners job to help defeat Sin and restore peace into Spira. So Tidus and co. get involved in a huge adventure that involves obtaining Aeons, fighting freaky people bosses, Chocobos ^_^ and lots of water. The Gameplay has changed in many ways. Its a lot more smoother than in previous games, and introduces turn-based combat, getting rid of the ATB gauge thing. The limit breaks are called 'Overdrives' and involve lots of things from 'Slice and Dice' to 'Mix'. Of course, one of the greatest additions is the ability to actually control Aeons. (summoned creatures) This means each Aeon can learn its own attacks and has its own Overdrive. They are much more than just magic spells now. The world map has been left out so now you can explore a fully 3D world! Its really cool! And of course Chocobos return. ^_^ The CG sequences are no longer 'separated' from the gameplay, but they are beautify blended in to create what many have been described as a interactive movie. Also the mini game is no longer cards, but a sport called Blitzball. You can play it at save spheres and you can win stuff, like overdrives for Wakka or just items. | Tidus (Tee-dus) Tidus is the main character in FFX. He seems to be a little bit of a crybaby but is brave and willing to protect his friends at any cost. |
| Yuna (Yoo-na) Yuna is a summoner-in-training. She summons powerful creatures called Aeons. She is also a white mage/healer. She has one green eye, and one blue. |
| Auron (Ore-on) Auron was the person who brought Tidus to Spira in the first place. He is mysterious yet wise. He has one eye and always carries his arm inside of his coat. |
| Kimarhi (Key-mar-ree) Kimarhi is a member of the Ronso tribe, a tribe of lion-like creatures that are under threat. Kimarhi speaks little, and is one of yunas guardians. |
| Rikku (Ree-ku) Rikku is an Al Bhed, a group of people who differ from the rest in many ways, including their own language. Rikku is also one of Yunas guardians. |
| Lulu (loo-loo) Lulu is a black mage and can cast powerful magic spells. She carries around a moogle doll with her. She is one of Yunas Guardians and is great in battle. |
| Wakka (Wok-a) Wakka is the captain of a Blitzball team and uses various techniques with blitzballs to attack. He dislikes the Al Bhed intensly. He is one of Yunas Guardians. |
