FFXI is the first Final Fantasy game to go online. Its already online in Japan and a USA release is schelduled for this year. (hopefully) Just imagine millions of FF fans talking, exploring and fighting together. It seems like a dream. FFXI will also be the first online RPG for PS2, which will be great! A great feature is that random battles are out for this title - instead, monsters and enemies will be fully visable on the field so you can avoid battle if you wish. The whole gameplay is very different from other FF games. In fact the battles are a cross between FFX and Phantasy Star Online, with a mix of turnbased battling and 'Hack n' Slash'. You can wander around the world and names appear above other characters, or monsters heads so you know just who, or what they are. The massive world looks absolutly breathtaking and the characters are very realistic. And guess what. Chocobos are in it! (Why wouldn't they be) I'm sure every FF fan will be very happy to hear that in FFXI, you can choose your own race. And I'm sure that FF hardcore fans will be even happier to know that the firts set availble are all from FFI! These include : Fighter, Theif, Blackbelt, White Mage, Black Mage and Red Mage. Other sets are availible as you progress in the game. Sounds like a great and fun idea to me! I seriously cannot wait for this game! Problem is all the setting up and internet costs will costs loads and I'm not exactly rich. Well, anyway this looks like a brilient experience as well as game and the lucky Americans will be playing it soon! I'll write more on this when I get some more info.
