This is where I will now explain all I know about our feathery friends! ^_^ So, What exactly IS a Chocobo? A Chocobo is a large, chicken-like, flightless bird that is used for transport in the world of Final Fantasy. They have been in the series for quite a while now, and have become the mascot of both the FF series and Squaresoft. They range from the cute and cuddly, like the one above to the fully metal armored ones in FFX. They are very intelligent and love to eat Gyshal greens. Are they edible? Although they possibly are, I don't think there has ever been a case of roast Chocobo. However, wild monsters in FFX do like to eat them (well named the Chocobo-eater) Also, I am unsure if they lay eggs but I guess they do since their birds after all. Gods knows if people eat the eggs but it seems a possibility. (must be some egg though!) Can they do battle? In both FFVII and FFVIII, a Chocobo was availble to summon and it did a resonable amount of damage.In FFVII 'Choco' appeared witha Mog and charged into the opponent. In FFVIII, it used Chocofire which did a reasonable amount of damage, but to get better attacks and raise it, you had to transfer it to the pocketstation and raise it tamagotchi-style. So, yes, Chocobos are good fighters too. Do Chocobos have any other use? Of course! Chocobos are used in a large variety of side-quests and mini games too! Some of these include Chocobo racing, bredding, catching and the much-liked Chocobo hot and cold game from FFIX. Chocobos are very fun creatures! ^_^ Name - Chocobo (Cho-koh-bow) Name of Baby - Chicobo (Chee-koh-bo) Other types - Chubby Chocobo Color - Usually yellow, but can be different colors Purpose - Steed, warrior, pet Series - Final Fantasy Sound - Kweeh! Size - Large, around the same height as a human Speed - Very fast |
