A Bass Lesson With Andrew Humphrey
Beginner Tab:
Tablature
Tablature uses a numerical as apposed to the more traditional note based system to tell the musician what fret to play
through the numbers on lines. If a 0 appears on a TAB line it means play that string "open", no fingers on the string.
If a number 5 appears on a TAB line, you would play with your left hand depressing the string on the 5th fret. On the
bass the strings are from the thickest to thinest: E, A, D, G. When you read a tab you read it upside down: G, D, A, E.
