Chinese Language Classes for Beginners

Winter 2002 (Mondays)

This class provides children to learn the Chinese language, to experience and understand Chinese customs and culture, and to be proud of their Chinese heritage. It is designed to make language learning enjoyable and help children to speak, read, and write basic Chinese. Children will learn through a variety of activities, such as singing, dancing, games, and handicrafts. The main feature of this class is that children will have fun as they learn.

This class is the continuation of the class of last school year. The students already have some basic knowledge of Chinese. This class is taught by Ms.Yaping Tang, a Chinese bilingual teacher at Pierce. The second session starts on January 14, 2002.

Location: Chinese bilingual classroom at Pierce
Duration: January 14 - March 25 (9 weeks)

Here are the things I would like to let parents know before the classes start:

1. Please make the arrangements to have your child picked up and sent to my classroom as you did last school year if your child is in P.S.E.D.

2. Snack time is at the beginning of the classes. Please prepare snack for your child.

3. Each student will get a folder from me. Please make sure that they bring their folders when they come to my class every Monday.

4. Students in both classes are required to do their homework every week. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
