We have been operating our children�s crisis center and helping families in need since November 2000 in Balykchy, Kyrgyz Republic.
Featured this month is a family of 7 children (the 8th child died recently). We have been working with the mother and the children for a long time. The children have been in and out of the crisis center. The mother tries to take care of her children but usually is only able to work at low paying jobs that last a short time. Her current husband is also unable to maintain employment for any period of time. Both have problems with alcohol. Now the oldest son Maxsat, age 20, and his wife, have come forth and will be providing a home for his siblings. Maxsat has a job selling limestone and his wife studies at a technical school in Tokmok. Maxsat would like to buy some land and build a house for his �new� family. Maxsat has shown over the last years that as the oldest son, he is responsible and tries to be there for his siblings. He will have in his care his two brothers and an older sister.
