Balykchy is located at the west end of Issyk-Kul Lake with a population of about 40,000 people.

The people are proud of the nature that abounds in their country and particularly proud of beautiful Issyk-Kul Lake which never freezes in the winter and is host to many waterfowl and migrating birds.
