4. Wither Shall I Go?(PDF File)
The audio files on this page are in RealAudio MP 3 format.
SATB A Cappella. Rich and tranquil. Great a cappella starter piece because of its simple harmony.
5. Lord, For Thy Tender Mercies Sake  (PDF File)
SATB
SATB A Cappella. This classic Renainssance English Anthem is by Richard Farrant. The song is a prayer of repentance, beautiful and moving. Section 1(pg1) is hymnlike: simple except for some unusual jumps. Section 2 (pg2) is in 4 part polyphony (like a round). The vocal ranges are very comfortable for the beginning choir, and the challenge of the second part will keep even your best singers interested.

SATB + Organ. Two meters are used alternatively: The 4/4 evokes walking, and the 6/8 traveling on the seas. This very fresh arrangement is perfect for a missionary farewell, pioneer day, or as a companion to a talk on obedience.
7. O God, Th' Eternal Father (PDF File)
SAB
SAB + Piano. The familiar melody of this hymn came from a Mendelssohn art song about the peace of a quiet woodland. This simple but effective arrangement is great for teaching blend.
SATB
8. Ammon's Anthem of Praise(PDF File)
SATB + Organ. This jubilant anthem is based on Book of Mormon text. The organ part is somewhat difficult, and the anthem poses more than a few challenges for the conductor. Written with the stake choir in mind.
9, Christ The Lord is Risen (PDF File)

SATB + Organ. This is a unison easter processional hymn. It was written to commemorate the easter birthday of Dr. Lane Cheney, a treasured friend and colleague.
SATB
10. Great God, Attend(PDF File)
SATB A Cappella. A new setting for an old hymn, reminiscent of the early American Fuging Tune. Section 1 is busily contrapuntal; section 2 is simply hymnlike.
11. The Time is Far Spent(PDF File) SATB
SATB + Organ. A Strident Anthem which is easy for the choir, but challenging for the organist. The last verse is with the congregation.
12. The Spirit Speaks Softly to Me(PDF File) SATB+SATB
SATB+SATB A Cappella. OK, so this one isn't for your average ward choir. It calls for two separate choirs, has a lot of imitative polyphony, and the effect is lovely. The lyric throughout is "The Spirit Speaks Softly to Me";
13. Children Of The Heavenly Father(PDF File)
