Name: Chii
Race: Persocon; possibly a Chobit.
Chii was found at the dump site by Hideki. She does not know her identity nor previous owner. Her appearance is that of a 15 or 16 year old girl. One thing that differs her from other persocons is that she does not require OS to work. The first sound produced from her was "Chii", hence the name.

Name: Sumomo
Race: Notebook Persocon
Originally Shinbo's, she was left to Hideki's care. A very kawaii character who is always cheerful and she dances during stand-by mode. Her functions include connection to the internet and telephone (I'd say, a very cool handphone if you ask me). Sumomo can actually draw images out instead of having her connected to the printer.

Name: Motosuwa Hideki
Race: Human
A 19 year old poor chap who lives alone in his apartment in Tokyo. He works at a bar and studies in a prep school. He is a little perverted though, from the collection of *magazines* he has. As the story progresses, he seemed to have developed special feelings for Chii.

Name: Kokubuji Minoru
Race: Human
A computer wiz who is only an elementary school student. He's from a wealthy family. He knows about the legendary Chobits, and suspects that Chii is the one. There are many female persocons in his house; all but one are scantily dressed. The one is Yuzuki (below).

Name: Shinbo Hiroshi
Race: Human
Hideki's best friend from prep school. He knows more about computers than him. There's something going on between him and their prep school teacher, Shimizi Takako.

Name: Yuzuki
Race: Persocon (Custom built)
Minoru's persocon who is programmed to behave and look like his late sister, whom he loves dearly. She seem to be more than just a computer to him. She is affectionate towards Minoru. Could she have developed feelings for him? Only Clamp knows...
