• Main dash is now a dark brown color on the beige-interior cars.

• One-piece projector headlights have been replaced with 2-piece reflector-style.

• Head unit now includes a CD player and no longer lights up blue at night.
  - The radio lights up green, which clashes with the light blue of the rest of the instruments.

• The dual pop-out cupholder has been replaced with a single slide-out unit in the armrest.

• "P" models now get 15-inch polished wheels.

• Intercooler connections are now replaced with more user-friendly clamp-type units.

• New CD changer available as an option.

• Side-view mirrors now have a crease in them to decrease wind noise.

• Previously black speaker covers in doors are now beige on beige-colored cars.

1998

• The "rising sun" Mazda emblem is replaced with the new "flying 'M'" emblem.

• "Mazda" and "Millenia" badges have been made larger and moved to the far outer edges.

• Besides that, I don't see any other changes.

• Prices for the Millenia have risen outrageously.

• Final year for the amber turn signals.

• Final year for the multi-spoked polished wheels.

Some welcomed changes to come during the 1999-2000 model years!
