Unit 2: Music and Recording

for each song they listen to detailing why they liked, disliked, or remembered

A. Students will be provided with links to all of The Beatle’s album

B. Students will design an album, CD, or cassette cover for The Beatles,
or one of their favorite groups, either fictional or non-fictional or write
a paper detailing what should be considered when undertaking such a project,
or write a paper about this type of artwork and a famous artist of this
genre.

represents the 1960’s or any other decade that still felt the influence

A. Students will complete one of the choices for assignment
#5 which include browsing the net to find fashion trends that were influenced

B. Students will make a list of five fashion articles or ten merchandising
articles that were influenced by The Beatles, or five 1960’s fashion articles
that are still in fashion today.
C. Students will be given a list of links to begin their research.

6. Students will write a paper, use a graphics or paint program, or make
a Web page that will represent all of the elements in Unit 3: Art including
album/CD cover art work, the collage of a decade, Beatle characters/places,
films, fashion, and merchandise.
A. Students will decide the method they want to use for depicting all
of the elements included in Unit 3: Art. They can select from writing
a word processing document, using a graphic or paint program, using a scanner,
making a Web page or using another method agreed upon by the instructor.

Unit 4: Social Studies
Web Quest

1. Students will view a Power Point presentation with images from the 1960’s.
This is a motivational objective that is associated with objective 20,
associated goals 1.2, 1.4, and associated need, 1.

for participating in the Web Quest: 1960’s.

3. Students will select a presentation method for their project that details
a problem in the 1960’s that they would like to change, why they believe

Unit 9: The Internet Beatles

1. Students will use a search engine to find and list at least nine new
Internet resource links pertaining to any aspect of The Beatles.
This is associated with objective 56, associated goals 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4
and associated need 1.

2. Students will use the list of nine or more new Internet resource links
pertaining to The Beatles and write a short description and proper citations
for each new URL. This is associated with objective 57, associated
goals 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, and associated needs 1 and 2.
A. Students will write a short description of each of the new Internet
resource links.
B. Students will write proper citations for each new URL including
the author, date, name of the Web site or article, the URL, and the date
they found the URL actively working.

3. Students will reflect on all they have learned in the course and will
write a paper detailing what they learned. This is associated with objective
58, associated goals, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.9, 2.10, and associated
needs 2 and 4.
A. Students will write about what they learned in each unit to date.
B. Students will write about what they found to be the most valuable
unit.
C. Students will write about the assignment they liked least.

Unit 10: Critical Analysis

1. Students will write a critical analysis of any Beatle music, lyric,
album, album cover artwork, film, or any other topic agreed upon with the
instructor. This is associated with objective 59 and 60, associated
goals 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 5.1, 5.2,
5.3, 5.4, and associated needs 2 and 5.
A. Students will be provided with links to information on how to write
a critical analysis, and on critical analysis of Beatle works.
B. Students will save the critical analysis as both an .rtf file and
an .html file to be added to the Homestead Web site.
C. Students will critically analyze their own work and revise if necessary.
D. Students will add the critical analysis to their Homestead Web site.

2. Students will view all of their classmates Homestead Web sites and write
a short four paragraph critical analysis of two of the sites. This
is associated with objective 61, associated goals 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2,
2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.9, 2.10 and associated needs 1 and 2.
A. Students will be given the URLs to view all of the Beatle Web sites
developed by their class.
B. Students will select two Web sites and write a four paragraph critical
analysis of each of the two Web sites.
C. Students will send an E-mail copy of their critical analysis to
both the instructor and the student.

3. Students will refer to all of the Beatle resources they used while taking
this course and identify the site they found to be most valuable and provide
an explanation as to why it was the most valuable in a short four paragraph
essay. This is associated with objective 62, associated goals 1.2,
1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.9, 2.10, and associated needs 1 and 2.

4. Students will refer to all of the Units they completed while taking
this course and identify the Unit they found to be most valuable and provide
an explanation as to why it was the most valuable in a short four paragraph
essay. This is associated with objective 63, associated goals 1.2,
1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.9, 2.10, and associated needs 1 and 2.

5. Students will complete a form in order to evaluate the entire course.
This is associated with objective 64, associated goals, 1.2, 1.3, 2.5,
and associated need 1 and 2.
Students who complete all of the objectives successfully will have
met all of the goals set forth by the Florida Sunshine State Standards
for Writing I.
