Disability Lawyer Links

HOME PAGE          NAVIGATION BAR

After many hours of searching the web specifically for lawyers who specialize in SSD I found very little.  I won't give you any legal advice but I will say that if I had to do it all over again I'd do what I did before - check local yellow pages (hard copy you keep in the closet) and get free consultations until I found an attorney I'm comfortable with or one I know has a good reputation.

But for those of you who would like to try a link, I've included what few lawyer search engines I found that I thought would be helpful.  Many of the sites out there are hard to navigate and/or don't match your search exactly, a big waste of time but I did it for you so
you don't have to.  I'll continue to search the web for attorney information & add more links as I find them.*

The Disinissues Good Lawyer List
The best site I've found for disability lawyers who handle CFS cases.

Lawyers.com
Possibly the best lawyer info/locator I've previewed.  Hope it does you some good.
Take the time to read about the lawyers and the firms.  Some link to lawyer's own website.

AttorneyPages.com
The header states: "Helping You Find Qualified Attorneys and Law Firms".
With a link to FreeAdvice.com where you can get "live" free advice.

The American Bar Association
The ABA's Commission On Mental & Physical Disability Law.  The index includes a Lawyer Directory however it doesn't seem to link to anything.  Rumor has it the ABA wants $55 for the directory.  I've left this page in Great Links just in case anyone feels like paying or can figure out a way to get the list for free.  If you get a copy of this list or figure out how to navigate this site, please contact me.

You Never Know What You Might Find!

PLEASE CONTACT ME AND LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF THESE LINKS WERE OF ANY HELP TO YOU OR IF YOU KNOW OF A GOOD LAWYER LINK OR EVEN A PLACE TO WRITE OR CALL WILL DO NICELY.  THANKS.  I'LL KEEP LOOKING TOO.

   * AOL.com's  lawyer search engine is suppose to find lawyers in your state who practice the type of law you are looking for.  I searched "social security disability" in every state - each search was met with a "no listings found" message.  Don't bother going to this site, I've done the footwork for you and found nothing.

CFS stands for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.  It is felt there is a problem with the immune system.  Some doctors feel it is all in your head.  But this is not the truth.  There really is a lot of pain.  Some people think they have Lymes or Lyme Disease (sometimes misspelled Lime Disease).  Some people are diagnosed with a diagnosis of MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and some are told they have arthritis.  There is no cure, but there is help.  There is treatment.  There is self-help.  This is a real illness.  It is physical and emotional.  There are relationship problems and financial problems.  There are real symptoms.  Some people think it's associated with AIDS.  Some think it's a virus.  Some think it is caused by stress.  Some think it's psychological or psychosomatic.  Patients are often treated poorly.  I know.  There is often depression associated with CFS.  That's why I've included Doctor Jokes and Lawyer Jokes.  You can apply for SSD or Disability Benefits if you have CFS.  You get this from the Social Security Administration. There are groups that offer alternative treatments.  CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, AIDS, Lyme Disease, Immune System, MS, Multiple Sclerosis -some people think these may all be related in some way. Diagnosis is difficult. Self-help is available. A cure for this illness is not. Treatment for your symptoms depends on your relationships with your doctors and lawyers. Jokes help relieve tension. CFS may be a virus. Some say it's psychological or psychosomatic or related to arthritis or emotional upset. It can ruin your financial situation. You can get help for depression. You can qualify for SSD (Social Security Disability) by contacting the Social Security Administration. Alternative treatments may be the best way to deal with CFS.
