The Reason I Created This Website

My name is Ellie.  I once suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  My physical condition deteriorated to the point that I could barely walk and for more than a year (of the nearly ten years I endured CFS) I couldn't leave my home without someone to lean on - literally.       Eventually my inability to socialize alienated me from all of my friends and most of my family.  I was very ill and never felt more alone.  I felt as if I'd hit rock-bottom both physically & emotionally.

Like most CFS sufferers I went from one doctor to another, taking every test they could think of.  I even allowed myself to be used as a guinea pig in research studies, but nothing helped.  In fact I continued to get worse.  At one point I was so desperate to get well I had a faith healer come to my home to rid it of evil.  I even paid a psychic healer.  She had me burning candles and soaking each night in a tub full of water laced with a fowl smelling (and expensive) oil she sold me.
Does any of this sound familiar?  I'm sure it does.  We've all been there.  But few of us have been able to break free from the fog.  I have and I'd like to share with you
how I got better.
My hope is that in relating my personal experience to you and by offering informative links it will in some way help you feel better too.

CFS Success Story will be updated and changed periodically to reflect the needs and opinions of visitors to this site.  I plan to bring you many more links plus interesting and useful information with an emphasis on things that will help you feel better.  Your opinions and feedback will help make CFS Success Story
the place to go to help PWCs feel better.

Please recommend this site to a fellow PWC.

I wish you all good health and happiness no matter where or how you find it.

-- Ellie

You Never Know What You Might Find!

CFS stands for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.  It is felt there is a problem with the immune system.  Some doctors feel it is all in your head.  But this is not the truth.  There really is a lot of pain.  Some people think they have Lymes or Lyme Disease (sometimes misspelled Lime Disease).  Some people are diagnosed with a diagnosis of MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and some are told they have arthritis.  There is no cure, but there is help.  There is treatment.  There is self-help.  This is a real illness.  It is physical and emotional.  There are relationship problems and financial problems.  There are real symptoms.  Some people think it's associated with AIDS.  Some think it's a virus.  Some think it is caused by stress.  Some think it's psychological or psychosomatic.  Patients are often treated poorly.  I know.  There is often depression associated with CFS.  That's why I've included Doctor Jokes and Lawyer Jokes.  You can apply for SSD or Disability Benefits if you have CFS.  You get this from the Social Security Administration. There are groups that offer alternative treatments.  CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, AIDS, Lyme Disease, Immune System, MS, Multiple Sclerosis -some people think these may all be related in some way. Diagnosis is difficult. Self-help is available. A cure for this illness is not. Treatment for your symptoms depends on your relationships with your doctors and lawyers. Jokes help relieve tension. CFS may be a virus. Some say it's psychological or psychosomatic or related to arthritis or emotional upset. It can ruin your financYou Never Know What You Might Find!ial situation. You can get help for depression. You can qualify for SSD (Social Security Disability) by contacting the Social Security Administration. Alternative treatments may be the best way to deal with
