The Official Columbia Ultimate Website

Columbia Ultimate is a recreational ultimate Frisbee league that was started in 2004 in Columbia, PA. It was formed to promote the game of ultimate Frisbee and offer an organized and fun activity for residents in the Columbia area. Games are held Sundays during the summer with finals in August.

We're still making additions to the new site, but have STOPPED updating this site at this point. 5/27/2008 Week 2 Stats are up. Columbia-ultimate.org kicks in next week 5/18/08 A rainy week one is now complete. The stats will hopefully be updated by tomorrow on our new site www.columbia-ultimate.org if the kinks with the new site get worked out. So it looks like everyone will just have to sit tight for a little, sorry. 5/8/08 Game times are now posted with the schedule! Be sure to check and see what time your first game is!!! 5/6/08 Directions to the new field are up. 5/5/08 The teams have been drafted! Only two weeks until the start of the season. For those of you wondering where we will be playing our games this year, we will be playing at the Central Manor Church. The address is 530 Central Manor Road Lancaster Pa, 17603. 3/15/08 Sign-up sheets are now available for download. Check out the sign-up sheet page, fill it out, and return to Matt Horn with 20 sign-up fee. 1/16/08 Sign up sheets will be available for the 2008 season of Columbia Ultimate Jan 27th. The entry fee will be $20 dollars. And yes... you still have to go though the sign up process again if you are a retuning player. To enter the draft both league dues and sheets must be given to Matt Horn by April 25th. The 2008 draft will be held on Saturday April 26th @ noon. 8/19/07 Final Year Stats are up on the Stat Page. Also listed there is a spreadsheet containing ALL CU stats from 2004-2007. See where you stack up among the league's greatest EVER! 7/30/07 The championship game is set! Huck N' Chuck will face Like 40 Ninjas. The playoff stats are now up on the main stat page. The All-Star teams have been set also. If you made the All-Star Team and can't play, tell Matt Horn so he can get your replacement lined up. Bring everyone you have ever talked to out to watch the championship under the lights. Player introductions start at 8:20! 7/23/07 Week 10 Stats are up. Playoffs are now set! Game one at 12pm features 4th seed Huck N' Chuckers @ 1st seed Shockers. Game 2 at 2pm features 3rd seed Like 40 Ninjas @ 2nd Seed Wingspan. Tim Smith became the first player this year, and the 2nd all time to achieve membership in the 30-30-30 club. James Burke also joined teammate Clark Meshey this week with entry into the 20-20-20 club. Donny Thompson broke the all-time record for the CU by catching 48 touchdown passes this season. Kenny Wagner's Shockers became the first undefeated team in CU history. Matt Zumbrum secured rookie of the year honors. 7/16/07 Week 9 Stats are up. Treachery, Detroit Muscle, Dirty Laundry and Size Matters are now eliminated from playoff contention. Tim Smith entered the 25-25-25 club this week, and Clark Meshey reached the 20-20-20 milestone. 7/8/07 Week 8 Stats are up. Size Matters and Dirty Laundry are now officially eliminated from playoff contention. Nate Smith reached a milestone this week throwing his 200th TDP ever. 200 is the most in CU history. 7/2/07 Week 7 Stats 6/25/07 Week 6 Stats are up. 6/18/07 Week 5 Stats are up. Shockers set a single-game record all-time with 34 FTOs. Awesome 5/22/07 Week 1 Stats are up. Check how your team faired. We're working on adding week one pictures and roster shots, so check back. If you have a pic you want to show on your roster page entry, send it to us. 5/5/07 Columbia Ultimate's 2007 draft was held today. We will be posting the teams on the roster page ASAP. If you absolutely can't wait to see what team you're on, check the stats page. The teams are listed on there. Thanks to all 96 people that signed up this year! 4/30/07 Columbia Ultimate's first annual hat tournament "BreakOut" went really well! With 32 players that came out ready to rock, the competition level was really high. We will post some pics of the tourney soon! Don't forget this is the last week to sign up for the upcoming season of Columbia Ultimate. So be sure to get your sign up sheet and money to any of the captains, so your name will be in the draft on Saturday May 5th. 4/24/07 Columbia Ultimate's First Annual Hat Tournament "BreakOut" is this Saturday! With that, all captains are set, so sign up soon and get everyone you know to also. 2/9/07 While updating the whole website with a new background, I got a little carried away and wanted to organize everything. Little did I know, when I was changing things around in the file manager I made ALL of the pictures taken in 2006 unavailable. I will have to go to Riggs' house to fix the problem. The good thing is that it isn't perminant, these pictures will return. 2/7/07 If you didn't notice the page has had a little bit of a makeover. Listed to the left is the NEW sponsors page!!! On a less exciting note, Mike Guiles will not be participating as a captain this year due to summer classes and an intership. This leaves a 8th captain spot currently vacant. 1/6/07 The 2007 Columbia Ultimate Schedule is now up on the Calender page. Check that out and see if you can figure out what the game of the week for week one is going to be. 1/5/07 Mike Guiles will be the 8th team captain for 2007. He will take the divisional position left by Ridicule. In addition, the CFL is now officially the CU, for Columbia Ultimate. Due to legalities, using the word Frisbee in our promotional things doesn't work. KEEP SIGNING UP..and GET NEW PEOPLE TO SIGN UP 12/10/06 Sign-up sheet for 2007 season now on Sign-up page. Until Matt Horn or Matt Riggleman receive your sign-up sheet and league dues, you will not be in the draft 12/9/06 Alot of updates to the page. Newly revamped history page to check out, which also now contains a log of things going on in the offseason. Also, under "sign-up" you can now actually sign up for the 2007 season awhile. Printable word doc. coming soon. Tell your friends and family to sign up ASAP so we can prepare early for next years season. This year's signup fee will be 20 dollars, which must be paid for your sign up to be valid. 12/8/06 A couple of articles were collected and scanned so we could start a CFL Press Page. If anyone has any articles about the CFL that we haven't posted on the new page, see Matt Riggleman. Press Page is now available!!! 11/4/06 The Rules page has been updated and adjusted. We're beginning to lay out an established set of CFL rules. In addition, we still are trying to hold Sunday frisbee at 11AM at Jansen's. If you are interested in playing, give Horn or Riggs a call and we'll let you know if there's interest that week. 10/21/06 It was a CFL day at LCBC on Saturday. After battling through the 7 team tournement, the final match was between a CFL squad headed by Brian Horn and one headed by James Burke. When the dust cleared, James's team took the tournement. Congratulations guys..and thanks to all involved for representing the CFL so well. 9/23/06 This past Wednesday at the LCBC, we got some bad news about the tournament they are holding. They are only letting players that are at least 18 years old sign up. If anyone is interested in playing see Matt Horn. He can give you the papers necessary to sign up. See Matt Riggleman or Matt Horn about sneaking you in if your under 18. 9/5/06 We've just received word that there will be a Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Mt. Joy Oct. 21st. We will be sending teams. If you are interested in getting on a team or entering your own entire team, contact Matt Horn or Matt Riggleman. We have to win this one for the CFL, and it's a great opportunity to gain experience and meet new people! 8/29/06 We have now set up a regular frisbee game weekly. Every week you can now play frisbee at Jansen's park @ 11AM on Saturday. Feel free to bring new people to spread the word and the game 8/19/06 This site has now been upgraded. We can now add tons more content, have less crashes, and NO ADS..can't beat that. Also, anyone who checks this: Frisbee this Sunday @ 12 @ Glads 8/13/06 In a MAJOR upset, the West All-Stars made up of Ridicule, Detroit Muscle and Frisbee Friends defeated the East 14-13. Also, a correction: the party at Horn's was at 11am. Thanks to those who came and I apologize for the mix up. 8/8/06 ALL-STAR GAME SUNDAY AT 2:00PM. Also, PARTY AT MATT HORN'S SUNDAY AT 11PM FOR ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE LEAGUE. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM BEFORE!!!!! CALL HORN AT 413-3678 IF YOU NEED DIRECTIONS OR A RIDE! Each page now contains a link to an excel spreadsheet, containing a game by game breakdown of all stats, as well as end of season totals. The All-Time Records page also contains an Excel sheet containing career totals for every player. All stat pages are updated 8/6/06 SIZE MATTERS ARE THE 2006 CFL CHAMPIONS. After an unbeleiveable evening at Gladfelters, drawing well over 150 fans, Size managed to steal the victory from Wingspan 12-11 in double overtime! Congradulations! Watch for the CFL in the Columbia Press & Merchandiser! We are currently preparing game pics to be uploaded so check back soon. We are also finalizing stat sheets to upload onto the site. 2004 are already up. Ask your bosses and family if they are interested in sponsoring a team next year! We are looking to add 2 teams next year, so continue to play and get new players, and help us meet our goals for CFL '07!! 7/30/06 The Championship is set! Size Matters defeated Detroit Muscle 20-6. Wingspan defeated Ridicule 16-14, becoming the only team to ever reach the championship twice. The run for the Cup ends next Saturday at 8:30 at Gladfelter Field: arguably the best game IN CFL history. Tell your friends and family to be at Gladfelters @ 8:30 pm for the sweet sounds oF DJ Klondike, fireworks, and commentation by Horn and Riggs! Trophy presentation after the game for the winners, all league leaders, and the rookie of the year 05&06 7/24/06 Roster page finally updated with the new pics we have. If you want to be up there, talk to Riggs next weekend. New random pics added under "pictures" Contact page updated..so if you need to get ahold of someone from the league or just want to trash talk, it's freakin' easier. 7/23/06 The Final Weeks Stats are up. Size Matters has taken the East division as well as the league, defeating Wingspan. Nate Smith secured his 3rd MVP award with 128 stats, setting new all-time records in TDPs with 60 and FTOs with 63. Matt Horn set two new all-time records, recording 25 overall stats Sunday, including 15 FTOs. Mike Guiles became the only player in CFL history to reach the 30/30/30 club. Mike Bowers reached the 20/20/20 club. Congradulations to Jarrett Swisher, Rookie of the year 2006, now listed on All-Time Records. We have also begun updating the All-time stats. page. Check below for playoff schedules. The final game will be held in 2 SATURDAYS at 8:30pm under the lights at Gladfelters. Everyone should be there. The All-Star game will be held the following Sunday. Continue to check the webpage as we will continue to tally all-time stats and to post league updates as they occur. If you know anyone interested in playing next season, have them contact Riggs or Horn. 7/16/06 Week 9 Stats are up! Size Matters set an all-time record with the most points scored in a game with 32 against the Frisbee Friends. Joe Droege set a new all-time record with 12 touchdown passes in the victory. Brian Horn became the first player in CFL history to enter the 25/25/25 club. Billy Aston has reached the 20/20/20 plateau. Nate Smith has hit 111 points for the season, which includes 58 FTOs, beating the old records of 110 and 48 also set by Nate, and making his the best season of any player in CFL history. Congradulations to all these players. Also, we're trying to raise two hundred bucks so we can have the final game under the lights. Ask your friends, family and employers for a couple bucks. Also, be sure to remind your friends and family that the last game is coming up, and they (and you) should be THERE! 7/10/06 Week 8 Stats are up! Unfortunately, Treachery and Frisbee Friends are now eliminated from the playoffs. Nate Smith has reached 100 stats for the season. Jason Wagner has recorded his 100th career touchdown catch. Both Mike Guiles and Brian Horn have entered the 20/20/20 club, and Wingspan continues their league domination: Leading in all team categories. Current All-Stars are now highlighted on the Stats. Page. Also, there is now a link posted on the "Links" page to a site where you can quickly, cheaply and easily buy the Discraft Frisbees we use in the league. 7/2/06 Week 7 Stats are up! The league no longer has an undefeated team with Size Matters's loss to Treachery. Ridicule set 2 new all-time records with their 31-4 victory over a short-handed Frisbee Friends. You can now check how many points your team has given up on the Stats page under "Pts. Allowed" 6/29/06 Stats are up for week 6!!! Size Matters remains undefeated at 5-0-1. Also Nate Smith set an all-time record with 14 FTO's in one game. 6/18/06 Week 5 stats are here, check them out and see where you stand! After half of the season Size Matters are atop the league with an undefeated record. Brian Horn is leading in the MVP race with 66 overall stats. You'll have to look at the page to find out the rest. 6/11/06 The stat page is updated with week 4 stats. 6/4/06 The stat page is updated with week 3 stats. Wingspan set their share of records this past weekend vs the Frisbee Friends. They set the records for Most points in a game, most FTO's in a game, and largest margin of victory in a game, so congrats to Wingspan. 5/28/06 Week 2 stats are up and ready for everyone to study. Also the All- Time Records page has been updated since there was a new league record set this past week. The calendar page has the game schedule for the summer, and if any of the captains would want to have a pratice/throwaround, that will also be put on the calendar. 4/8/06 The CFL Draft is complete! The teams have been finalized for the most part and now everyone is looking forward to opening day May 21st. 4/5/06 The Calendar page has been updated with the 2006 game schedule. 4/4/06 Here is a list of the "free agents" that will be avaiable in the draft this Saturday. Sign up today!!! 3/24/06 Crazy amounts of CFL flyers have been distributed in the past week, and we have had a lot of feedback so far. Sign-ups will conclude April 7th, since we will be holding the 2006 CFL draft on the 8th. 3/11/06 It is official, the Scary Unkles new captain Mark Hagan has issued the name of his team. Frisbee Friends will open the season against Detroit Muscle May 21st. 1/7/06 Many topics discussed, but only one resolved at the captains meeting. That being the date for the CFL draft April 8th. 1/5/06 CFL captains meeting for saturday the 7th at Riggleman's. Let's try for 12 o'clock. 12/13/05 The All-Time Records Page is totally updated. 12/8/05 Going to try and get a captains meeting together sometime over christmas break. 9/15/05 A captain's meeting is scheduled for Oct. 13. The time is TBA. Call Matt Horn for details. 9/02/05 The draft order for the 2006 season will be Treachery, Scary Unkles, Ridicule, Size Matters, Wingspan, and finally the 2005 Champions Detroit Muscle. 9/01/05 Check the pictures page for some new shots of the all-star game and the finals. 8/15/05 The Vault Page has been updated with season 2 info. 8/13/05 Regular season stats are completely updated. The spreadsheet is also updated and contains the all-stars. 7/21/05 Stats spreadsheet and the calendar are updated. 7/18/05 Stats have been updated This weeks games will be held on Saturday July 23 instead of Sunday. The field will not be availible Sunday. Playoff game times will be July 31 at 2pm and 3pm. Championship Game time is still undecided at this time. All Star game will be held August 14th at 2pm. 7/10/05 First, check out the new pics, there are some good and funny ones. Second, the fifth and sixth sets of stats have been up for awhile, I just didn't make the announcement. As for last week's, I apologize for not being as speedy, but I've been away for a while. They are now up along with week eight's (July 10). And third, if you got your picture taken, it should be up now, so check out the roster pages. 5/19/05 Directions to Gladfelter's can now be found on the site. 5/4/05 Now that the draft is over and the teams are set, it's time to start showing your team pride with the team T-shirt. Players should give 10$ to their captain or directly to Matt Horn so they can buy the T-shirts. The rules have been updated. Now teams may play entire games with the minimum 3 players, and throwers will have 10 seconds to pass the frisbee (not 15) as counted by the defender (not referee) when the defender begins defending the thrower. 5/3/05 WELCOME to the new official CFL Website! First, well the bad news is sign ups are over, but the good news is that it means the teams are set. The ROSTER page is now up with all the members. Second, the CALENDAR is also up to date, containing all the season games so check it out. And Third, check out the PICTURES page for some awesome shots. 4/22/05 After the teams are decided, if they have a logo they want to appear on the site, please send it to Nate (info on Contact Us page). If the team doesn't have a logo, or they would like me to create one(perhaps using a specific image), I will create one for them to appear on the roster page.
