'03 - '04 Review

We've been busy! I have compiled a list of all of the things that went on during this past school year. This way we can compare it against what we've done in the past and plan to do in the future.

Completed Stuff
This is the list of activities, most with dates, of what we've done as a club. As I've said before, we have had a very, very busy year.

December 20, 2003: Caroling at Hartfield.
April 3, 2004: NFB Walk
April 24, 2004: I guess some people showed up at Happyhats?
April 24, 2004: Habitat Youth Memorial Walk
May 2, 2004: Giant Food drive
May 8, 2004: Highway Cleanup # 2
May 15, 2004: Helped out with landscaping project.
May 29, 2004: Trip to the Ronald McDonald place.
June 5/6, 2004: Relay for Life

Year-Long Projects
We have had several on-going projects during this school year in addition to all of the events we have done and/or helped with.
Collecting Pop-Tops (buckets full!) for donation to the Ronald McDonald house
Collecting cellphones for emergency use.
Collecting used hearing aids for donation.
Collecting eye glasses and glasses cases for donation.
Scholarship for Nerissa and Alex.
Weeping Cherry / Weeping Snow Cherry memorial in the school's Senior Courtyard for Nerissa and Alex.
Postcards written and sent to ill children.
Angel Gift Project, where we donated clothing and gifts to two very special people in need.
We had Club Twinning Buddies!

For the Future
These are things that we talked about in meetings, but we have not gotten to them yet... Or maybe we'll be doing them over the summer.
Carwash Fundraiser, to raise money for our scholarship.

Other Events
On this page, we mention the names "Nerissa" and "Alex" quite a bit. For those who are new and have no idea about these awesome people, they were Leos in our awesome Leo Club. They lost their lives in a tragic car accident, on February 6, 2004, while coming to school on an icy day. They were both active members, kick-butt kids, and good students. We miss 'em a lot. So, we started up the scholarship for them and the memorial in the senior court yard. Nerissa was 16 and a junior and Alex was 15 and a sophomore.�Also, the Habitat for Humanity walk that we did on April 24, 2004 was dedicated to the two. Money is also being collected, as well as labor, from us Leos, to help build a Youth Center in the name of the Ner-Child. You may recognize the name "Ner-Child" from our RAWR! Box, as the last entry she put in there has yet to be deleted out at this time ("Ner-Child: DUDE! That little e-card thing is the kewlest thing ever."). Talk about creepy...
