| History The Indianapolis Camel Toes joined the CFFL when it restarted in 2005. Several weeks into the season, the team bowed to pressure from it's female fans and changed their name to the Night Wolves. Indy began their inaugural season off strong, starting the season 8-1 (the only loss being an upset to the Crappers in Las Vegas, 142-95. However, trouble hit the Wolves. They tied their Week 9 game at Northampton, 70-70, then went into a complete tailspin, losing the rest of their regular season games and only clinching the Baugh Division title over the resurgent Pittsburgh Hardcores by half a game. They were upset at home in the divisional playoff by Pittsburgh, then lost their last game of the season, bringing their losing streak to 7 games in a row. Injuries were a major factor in the slide, as key players such as RB Corey Dillon, WR Donald Driver, and QB Marc Bulger all missed time. The Night Wolves' woes continued in 2006. They clinched the wild-card spot in the very weak Baugh Division, but lost in the divisional playoffs to Pittsburgh. They finished the season 6-10. In 2007, things finally turned around for Indianapolis. It began with a name change back to the Camel Toes. The team rode the retro name to their second Baugh Division title and won the first playoff game in franchise history to advance to the CFFL Championship game, which they lost to New York. Indianapolis never got on track in 2008, losing their first 3 games and suffering a 6-game losing streak as they wound up missing the playoffs. They did win the Draft Pick NIT, guaranteeing then the first pick in the 2009 CFFL Draft. The Camel Toes play their home games in Beaver Stadium, which is a 60,000 seat retractable-roof facility which contains natural grass. |
