| History The Bo-Aggies are another of the teams that joined the CFFL when it restarted in 2005. They got off to an inauspicious start, losing their first three games and winning only one time during the first two months of the season. Before their Week 9 game against Kansas City, New York pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Goatcheese, sending Peyton Manning, their first overall pick, to the Goatcheese with three other players for RB Shaun Alexander. The team was markedly improved during the rest of the season, going 4-2 and winnning the Draft Pick NIT to claim the first overall pick in the 2006 CFFL Draft. The team was involved in a controversy as they debuted a logo very similar to Pittsburgh's. After much trash talking between New York owner Chris Boag and his brother-in-law, Hardcores owner Mike Resetar, it was agreed that tha winner of the Week 11 matchup between the teams would retain the logo. The Bo-Aggies lost the game, and debuted their current logo a few weeks later. Heavily favored to win the CFFL Championship heading into the 2006 season, the Bo-Aggies suffered several key injuries, and even the emergence of QB Drew Brees couldn't help New York improve on their 7-9 record from the year before. New York finally lived up to the hype in the 2007 season, starting the season 3-1 on their way to the Bednarik Division title and the CFFL Championship. The Bo-Aggies started 2008 they way they ended 2007, winning 8 out of their first 9 games. They clinched home-field throughout the playoffs, but lost in the divisional playoffs to Baltimore. The Bo-Aggies play in the Boag Bowl, tied with Soul Harvester Field in Chicago as the second-biggest stadium in the league. The stadium has a natural grass surface and a retractable roof. |
