Fire Explorer Post 246 Operations
Fire Explorer Post 246 is operated and sponsored exclusively by the City of Charlottesville Fire Department. The Charlottesville Fire Department's rules and regulations essentially tell both the Fire Explorers and the Professional Firefighters what they are and are not allowed to do. Everything that any Fire Explorer does for Explorer Post 246 must go through the authorization of Captain Larry Antonacci and/or Captain Bobby Elliot.
In the interest of having slightly different rules to be governed by, the explorer post drafted Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) that would be acceptable to the Charlottesville Fire Department. These rules were accepted by the Charlottesville Fire Department in 1980 and are still in use today with the exception of new and improved changes that have been made due to new laws and regulations. The Palmyra Volunteer Fire Company Junior Program, has also adopted these SOP's for there own use.
The SOP's are available for download on the link below. Please feel free to take a look and see what you think.
