The Education and Technology Center for the Blind
New Department: ETCB
The CFBT has answered to the requirements
as visually impaired persons need to have the same access to technology
and information as other people. The CFBT has installed
the ETCB - The Education and Technology Center for the Blind. The
ETCB will have 2 fields of tasks:

The role and function
of the ETCB has been defined as follows:
To provide the following services to the VIS
-
Produce and distribute Braille books.

Produce and distribute talking books.

Produce and distribute learning and teaching
materials.

Produce teaching handbooks for all necessary
subjects.

Study and research new technology for the
VIS
-
Upgrade the capability of all CFBT personnel
by training programs of O&M. Daily Living, Computer,
Technology (Software) and other necessary programs
-
Provide services of installation and maintenance
of hardware.

Search and provide scholarships for university
VIS students.

Provide vocational training programs to
adult VIS
-
Produce and provide learning and teaching
aids to students who have low-vision.
-
Function as Information Center.
-
Conduct counseling to all the VIS and their
families.

Procure and conduct revolving fund programs
for small enterprises of the VIS.
