The Famous Asaro men

One of the cultural destinations of our Highlands Adventure Tours is the lush Asaro Valley. Due to its mountainous terrain this area of PNG has been difficult to access until recent years. The people living in the many villages of the valley have been able to cling on to their traditional lifestyles and culture.
Famous for their traditional dress and dance the Asaro Mud Men are a must see for the traveller interested in other cultures. Other attractions are the numerous rivers and craggy mountains and traditional handicrafts such as intricately decorated bows and arrows, kina shells, basketry and carvings.
