Where in the world?

I'm ready for a vacation of oh, let's say, 11 days. I'd like to go somewhere, a city, yes, a city...somewhere with art and architecture and theater and shopping and food and friends. Someplace like, oh, I don't know, New York. Now, let's see, where shall we go?

Paris? Non.
Sydney? Too far, mate.
Rome? Been there recently.
Los Angeles? Freeways. Groan.
Buenos Aires? Winter's just starting.
London? Perfect. British Airways? Redeye? Excellent. We'll leave tonight.
