Celine had great success all over the world, but one thing made her taking the risk of losing it all; Rene was diagnosed with cancer. She postponed and cancelled almost every concert and public appearances in the spring of 1999 to be with Rene. She hoped we, her fans would understand, and they received tons of get-well cards, prayers and letters from us. Of course we would understand!
Rene talked her over to continue her touring; if she stopped, he would die twice, he told her. So she continued her touring that summer, fall and winter. She had a satelite installed so he could watch every concert, and talk to her during the shows. But now she'd made up her mind. She had to take a break to spend more time with Rene and her family, to live a normal life doing normal things, and maybe have a baby.
