Dr. Chris Ramsey -- Best Support
in Any Situation
This
week, Chris didn't have any enormous amounts of screen time, but he made
his presence felt. It seems we always come back to the basic question:
Where does Chris fit in around Port Charles? The answer is
simple really. Chris is the voice of reason
when people least want to hear it. While a lot of times it seems
callous and rude, Chris speaks his mind and sometimes he hits the bull's
eye. This week, he got a chance to speak his mind more often than
usual. First, early in the week, Chris wondered who would fix Eve
while she tends to other people's problems. Besides stating the obvious,
Chris also made his feelings clear about Eve.....Again. For those
of us who have watched their friendship flourish and watch Chris develop
feelings perhaps beyond the realm of normal friendship, it was one more
sign that Chris has in no way forgotten what Eve means to him. Later
in the week, Chris advised Karen to go to a
Narcotics Anonymous meeting. While Karen
reacted harshly to his advice, he spoke as a doctor and for once, he also
gave the advice of a possible friend. He warned her to get support
before she slipped off the wagon. It wasn't a bad piece of advice,
even if it wasn't given a warm reception. Then, we C&E Cheerleaders
got a scene that made us all sigh with joy and hope for the future.
When Chris gave Eve a back rub, he told her that he thought she was special
and that both Ian and Kevin were fools to ever let her go. Were these
the simple words of a friend? They could have been, but with the
facial expressions we saw from Chris, we all know it was much much more.
Chris' feelings for Eve have never diminished, and it was never more clear
than in the moment Chris told her she was special. What do all of
these things tell us? That Chris tries his best to be a support to
people, but his intentions are sometimes questioned as well they should
be. However, this week Chris wanted to help and he tried to do just
that. But just as always....you win some, you lose some. We'll
just have to see if that makes Chris any less vocal....my bet is no.
He hasn't let anything curb his desire to be heard yet, and I don't think
that anything could make this one into a shrinking violet.
