The OMAA-METS program has expanded

Ongoing community consultations and a willingness to be on the forefront of employment and training issues leads us to expanded programs and services for all off-reserve Aboriginal participants.

We now offer 9 specific programs and an extensive list of services designed to assist you in meeting your employment goals.

Program objectives:

To assist OMAA and CMC members to find employment and obtain skills upgrading or pursue self-employment opportunities through a variety of support programs and services.
To assess the skill levels required for these opportunities and recommend a course of action.
To bring our members together with real employment opportunities through our up to date database.

Job placements (Targeted Wage Subsidy and Youth Internships) can be initiated by the participant, or jointly put forward by the prospective employer and the participant.  The prospective employer must complete and sign an application and provide a job description. Internships should provide an in depth explanation of the duties and responsibilities of the participant and how these functions correspond with the participants course of study.
For training assistance, we require a formal application to be completed and signed, a quotation from the institute, a course curriculum, a book list, a letter of acceptance, a resume and a cover letter outlining your career goals.
