Sophia is the band former The God Machine singer/guitarplayer Robin Proper-Sheppard formed in 1996.
Started as some kind of side-project, Sophia became a 'serious' thing as a first album called "Fixed Water" was released in November 1996. 1997 was the touring year, on September 4th 1998 the second album, titled "The Infinite Circle" was released. Early 2000, the original Sophia line-up released an album as The May Queens. Some new material is waiting to appear on a forthcoming third Sophia album (Fall 2003?). Meanwhile, a live album recorded in January 2001 has been released, including five new songs. Stay tuned!
