Child abuse is a serious global issue. It happens every day to over a million children in our nation.Child abuse includes:
Physical Abuse
-Non-Accidental injury to a child. (e.g. hitting, kicking, shaking, slapping, burning, whipping, pinching, biting, choking, throwing, shoving, paddling, etc.)
Mental/Pyschological Abuse
-Any attitude or behavior which interferes with a child'd mental health or social development.(e.g. name calling, yelling, faliure to provide protection)
Sexual Abuse
-A sexual act between an adult and a child (e.g. fondling, penetration, intercourse, exploitation, porn, etc.)
In many cases children feel that it is okay for there guardians to treat them that way. They have endured it so much tha it has caused them to think that it is okay for someone to do these things.
In other cases children are scared. They are scared to tell anyone because they believe that they are the ones who are doing the wrong, when really they are the victims.
