The band finally finished the three day recording session.   I'm utterly exhausted and have lost a considerable amount of sleep.   Last night and early this morning was spent at the studio mixing down everything to a master DAT tape.

The band is far from finished,  and we need to do another session in January.   We simply have no time to do another session between now and New Year's.   The band's so busy and it's taking its toll on family life and relations between my wife and I.   We seem to always be arguing about one thing or another.   I'm expected to still do errands and things throughout the day even though I work at night.   I've been losing sleep for months now but I seem to be getting used to it.

I've been pretty successful at eating healthy recently.   Lots of fruits and vegetables,  and getting in some exercise by walking and calisthenics,  stretching and pumping iron.   I seem to be weaker in my soloing capabilities,  and I'm worried about that because I'm on a special diet.   I'm always worried about not getting enough protein to replenish my muscle tissue.   It's always been a problem with me because of my drumming and exercise regimen.   I've recently been using a protein powder supplement and have also been using Creatine,  which unfortunately is like a legalized steroid!   I know I'm playing 'guinea pig',  but I'm open to experimentation and to try to figure out how to improve my performance.

The band played at Harmony on 5th tonight from 6:30pm - 10:30pm.   I fairly easy gig.   The new owners of this club-restaurant have really furnished and remodeled this place,  formerly known as The Supper Club a GO GO.   There's not as much room on the dance floor,  but there are plenty of booths for dining.  It's all in an 'art deco' style.  It really looks quite impressive!   The owners didn't really feed us a substantiall dinner,  but we were able to partake in all the finger sandwiches and other tray items that were constantly being served throughout the gig.

I've been writing an awful lot of sketches and pieces of poetry and prose.   It's just a matter of getting all the ideas together and formulate several poems out of them.

I've been slowly but surely improving my poetry site.   I've been able to put up a featured poets page,  finally!   And I've showcased a few talented poets so far.   I just want to fine tune this section of my poetry page and really make it look impressive.

Well,  I know I'll need to get into another woodshedding phase with my drumming.   It's just going to have to be more time on the practice pad,  and some time spent on the full kit at home.   I know I need to get to the next level,  and I'm still very critical about my playing,  although I was happy with my performance tonight at the Harmony on 5th.

I'm simply going to have to get a list together to do all these things that I need to get done.  It's very hard trying to juggle the responsibilities of playing in a successful band,  and trying to take care of family things,  and keeping everyone happy.   I feel bad that I haven't spent enough time with my two boys.   It's alot of juggling that I have to do,  but I know it can be done.  I know I need to discipline myself in order to really get my act together.   I know it CAN be done,  I just have to keep trying...
