6.17.98 The Rhino Room - Huntington Beach
We left Warren's house around 6:30pm. This was the official beginning of our mini-tour. We rented a 15 passenger van and a cargo van. We arrived at the Rhino Room in Huntington Beach around 8pm. They usually have swing lessons from 8:00 - 9:30, so we had plenty of time to set up our instruments onstage and get dressed. The performance itself went well. There was the usual crowd of Orange County swing dancers that we've seen on previous gigs here, plus a large group of about 150 people celebrating graduations. I felt fine with my performance, and my solos were well received, with a little help from some of our fans that showed up tonight. Afterwards, we packed everything up for our trip to San Fransisco at around 2pm, and drove all night long, taking turns at the wheel. |
