a poetic journey
about me

June 16, 1998          iced those knees

I made sure I got plenty of rest today.   Tomorrow we start our tour up north to San Fransisco.   I'm feeling pretty good about the whole deal.   I haven't been to SF in such a long time,  I'm really looking forward to it.

Here's our schedule:

WED 6/17 - The Rhino Room - Huntington Beach

THU 6/18 - HI-Ball Lounge - San Fransisco

FRI 6/19 - Cafe Du Nord - San Fransisco

SAT 6/20 - Coconut Grove - Santa Cruz

SUN 6/21 - Cafe Du Nord - San Fransisco

MON 6/22 - Journey Back To San Diego

Usual routine today.   In the mornings I get my oldest son ready for school.   He usually eats a bowl of cereal with milk.   Then I help him get dressed,  cleaned up and ready for the bus to pick him up.

My youngest son gets up a little later,  and I make sure he has breakfast and then I get him ready for kindergarten.
Then I take him to school myself in the car.

Listened to Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 this morning.   Being a drummer playing in a big band can be a little hard on the hearing,  I mean we play dynamically,  but at the same time their are loud passages in the music where we simply blast!   So,  my way of countering the excessive horns and drums is to listen to classical music at home.
I've always loved classical music since I was a kid.   It's just something I've always had a passion for.

My knees are feeling a bit sore,  especially the right one.   I've been icing them and elevating them best I can,  and I'm confident they'll be okay for the tour.   I'll bring the ice pack and the knee support and use them after every gig just to make sure.
