This was my first serious attempt at hybridization but all of my planned crosses went out the window when very few of my irises bloomed the first year due to a nasty April snow storm. The irises had made good progress up to this point and then down came more than a foot of that fluffy white stuff from the sky . I suppose only 40% of my entire stock bloomed the first spring so I made a few crosses for fun . Less than 50% took due to the fact that it seemed to rain every single day. I made a few crosses between light afternoon rain showers that were sucessful now I just have to see how many of these seeds will germinate.
