High School Career 2015-2019

Freshman/Sophomore

My freshman year, I played second base and a little bit of shortstop. I have no idea what my stats were. My sophomore year was a rollercoaster. I started out on the Junior Varsity team (JV) and played shortstop there. One of my teammates in the same grade as me was the starting varsity second baseman. I struggled hitting that year, so he played over me. But he struggled against varsity pitching, and I finally got my shot, but I only played defense. I was hit for by a DH. While it took me a long time to get a starting spot, it was worth it. My brother Cannon played first base that year, and I was at second. We ended up making it to the State Championship but lost. It was a great experience being able to share the field with my brother and also being coached by my dad.

Junior Year

My junior year, I was the starting second baseman, and I finally was in the lineup. I hit great that year and also played solid defense, plus I pitched a little bit. The reason why I wasn't the shortstop is that we had The Utah Gatorade Player of The Year there, and I was not better than him, not even close. At one time in that year, we were ranked #18 in the nation, and we finished the year with a record of 26-5, but we fell short of the State Championship. This was by far my favorite year because I made a lot of friends, and Fortnite was at its peak, so my whole team was playing it. Another reason that it was my favorite year was because I opened a lot of college scouts' eyes, and they talked to me a lot that year.

Senior Year

Going into the fall of 2018, I wasn't committed to play anywhere, but I had a few offers. I decided to sign with Salt Lake Community College in December. Going into the season, I knew we basically had a new lineup, all except for 3 guys. Besides that, I had the best year my senior year. I was still the starting second baseman and one of the starting pitchers, but I was also the team captain. We ended up going 18-10 and lost to Dixie early in the state playoffs. But this was the year I learned a lot about myself because I worked so hard and proved a lot of people wrong even though I had a lot of people against me.
