Return to Home Front

Standing in the entry to the main living area, which Mister approvingly says looks like a Residence Inn set-up, I have the living area to the right and the dining and office area to the left.

Directly in front is a print I purchased from the United States Naval Institute. It is a print of a 1897 painting by Edwin Moran showing the burning of the USS Philadelphia in Tripoli harbor during the Tripolitan War. Captured by the enemy, US forces entered the harbor, boarded the ship and set it afire, and escaped. The successful operation redeemed our reputation after the disaster of losing the frigate in the first place. With the overhead light illuminating the flames in an otherwise dark painting, it looks quite striking:

Below and in front of the print is a light that I think is pretty cool. It is blue with fish in it. The highlight for small children is that "Nemo" is in there:

From here you can go to the living area, to the dining and office area, or to the hallway.
